MASS STEM HUB
MASS STEM HUB SUPPORTS SCHOOLS AS THEY ADOPT HIGH QUALITY APPLIED LEARNING PROGRAMS THAT BUILD THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS STUDENTS NEED TO SUCCEED IN A RAPIDLY CHANGING, HIGH TECH WORLD
High-quality implementation is paramount for impact. Foundations often make strategic decisions about what programs to support but rarely consider the full set of supports required for schools to implement with fidelity. At One8, we house Mass STEM Hub, which partners with schools across the Commonwealth to assist with implementing our grantees’ cutting edge, high-quality STEM and applied learning programs. Mass STEM Hub learns alongside schools as they implement and develop supplemental supports and complementary offerings for teachers, students and volunteers to amplify the impact.
What does this work look like?
Mass STEM Hub accomplishes this work by:
- Deploying an implementation team of former educators to learn from early adopting schools doing best-in-class implementation work
- Creating learning communities of educators so they can easily share ideas and best practices across schools and districts
- Holding statewide student events and competitions to showcase students’ work
- Connecting industry STEM professionals to classrooms and events so students can benefit from authentic feedback and see the relevance of what they are learning
The American economy has always depended on innovation, and in a knowledge-based society, there can be no real innovation without an educational emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math. This is especially important to create a workforce that can succeed in today’s rapidly changing economy.
